“I find myself in a world of timelessness when I draw or paint. It is the freedom and the silence in which I am able to create.”

Rozanne
van Boxtel
Already at a young age, Rozanne (1972) found her passion in drawing and painting. ‘I remember that I was always busy making something. Like a guiding principle throughout my life, from toddler to grown-up, drawing is my soul and bliss.’
Rozanne is self-taught. She has gradually developed her own identity in her drawing and painting work.
Much of her work is drawn with colouring pencil. In addition, she also works with pastels and conté, and paints with acrylic on canvas.
From a young age Rozanne felt a great connection with animals and nature.
“All around us there is so much beauty to see. Free, given by nature. The only thing we have to do is look. Really look. Then a new world will open up full of colour, shapes, sounds, smells; it is all present. Due to the many stimuli in our society, the haste and enormous pressure with which we live, we sometimes forget to look beyond. We only have to open our eyes.”
Animals have thus become the subjects of her drawings.
Since she’s 28, she has been full-time Casting Director in the Dutch film and televisionscene. (www.sjouercasting.nl). Besides that she spends as much time as possible behind the drawing table.
